This has been my go to clinic "toy" in 2015. It will be great stocking stuffer for all the movement geeks and self care fanatics out there. I've wrote a blog (see here) and taught two classed on what it does and how to use it and I STILLLL get tons of curious questions from patients (shameless self plug). So I'm recommending you just pick up some bands and get after it over the holidays. Especially when you start that New Years resolution and sweating out all that gravy, this is a great alternative to foam rolling and lacrosse ball work for mobility and recovery. You get 2 for $30.

A unique action/activity tracker that compiles stats on all the fun things you like to do: ski/snowboard, surf/skateborad, mountain bike...the possibilities people, think of the POSSIBILITIES!! This fancy gadget is definitely on my wish list, and I plan to put it to good use on the mountain this winter!
This nifty little activity tracker keeps track of your steps, distance walked, sleep, and even calories burned each day. I love that it comes in a variety of colors but isn’t bulky as to stand out or get in the way. The compatible applications have so much functionality, but my favorite would have to be the ability to challenge friends, co-workers and loved ones to increase their daily activity with you! I definitely see this as a wish list top pick that is fun and healthy for the whole family!
Do you like wool but don't like to smell like a goat? This may be the greatest new invention in outdoor wear I've seen. I am a softshell/wool windstopper/gore tex rain jacket/puffy coat/ faux insulated outerwear owner, and I cannot wait to get my hands on something like this.
Once I discovered smartwool/ibex/icebreaker, my hiking life was changed. No more freezing and smelling like B.O at the end of a hike from polyester, and no more itching either from traditional wool. NOW IT'S WATER PROOF!! Enough said, this may change everything. Voormi looks great, reviews are awesome, so get out there with one of these bad-boys. Just get in line behind me...
Everyone knows I love my wife more than anything. They also know how forgetful I can be. I'm that guy. At least once a month, I nearly lose my keys, wallet, and even my wedding ring...especially when I take it off to get my fitness on! I'dd love to keep my ring on during my workouts, but doing pull-ups and barbell work for an hour would leave my hand (and ring) torn up. There has to be a wedding ring out there that allows athletes to wear the beautiful symbol of marriage while they bend bars and break records. Well, now there is - it's called the QALO wedding band.
The QALO wedding band is a silicone band made in an array of colors that are comfortable to wear and stand up to the punishment. I keep my band on all day long. I wear it to bed, in the shower, and especially when I "crush it" in the gym. It's a high quality band...I couldn't be happier with it.
Now, when you're committing yourself to mastering the Muscle-Up, you can still show your commitment to your significant other. Go QALO!
A must have form many crossfitters and weightlifters is the option and flexibility for added wrist support. This is especially true for athletes new to the sport. Of all the new aches and pains, the wrists are often one taking a beating. I'm looking at you push-ups, burpees, overhead presses and racked position. An easy and cheap way to add support as you add strength is the Rogue Wrist Wraps - White Series . Compared to others these are a great option because they are velcro - making it easy to adjust mid workout. They are also easy to store - as opposed to rolling up a long nylon strap. The white series is thicker and does tend to get stinky, however I like the added support with having less length (12"). Also, at $12 it makes a great stocking stuffer. Safe lifting!
It's light, stable, versatile, and has a natural feel that will give you confidence in whatever you're about to conquer - from box jumps and squats, to running and hiking. This all-around shoe will become your go-to for a wide variety of fitness activities.

Part of my job at Kinetic requires me to bounce around between clinics. Each clinic has multiple keys. With three clinics and one more scheduled to open in January combined with my personal keys, I've got a ton of metal in my pocket.
Enter Keysmart. This little product is ingenious! It can take a stack of unruly keys and organized them into a nifty little swiss-army-knife-like-carrier-thingy. Yes, that's a technical term.
Living in the Northwest, it's hard not to explore our beautiful region of the world. Whether it be day or overnight hikes, a good hiking boot is necessary. For one - you'll look like a true hiker. Plus you will keep your feet and body happy when you push yourself to go longer distances. I personally enjoy my Merrell hiking mid boots, but no two feet are alike and it's vital to try several brands to find which shoe works best for you. I do, however, recommend a waterproof mid boot to get the most bang for your buck. We definitely see wetter weather around here and the traction you get with boots plus the waterproof quality help to make each hike easier and much more enjoyable.

The new year is quickly approaching and with every new year comes a new resolution. Or if you're like most people, the same resolution as the last 10 years, "lose 20 pounds!", "best shape of my life!", "feel like I'm 25 again!"....amiright?! I suggest you get 1 step ahead of your fitness resolutions and order yourself some meal prep containers, like this one from Meal Prep Haven. Working right next to a natural food store, I know how tempting it is to just pick up some already prepared food from the hot-bar. Unfortunately, the food selection is not always the healthiest and the money spent adds up quickly! Meal prep containers are a great investment to bring your kitchen creations with you wherever you go and stick to your new diet in 2016. BONUS: bring your own food and blame your strict diet when a friend or family member invites you over and they're cooking something they found on Pinterest - Nailed It!
